Nora

For Adoption Devon/Cornwall

Hello lovely human

My name is Nora and I’m hoping with all my heart that someone out there is looking for a girl just like me…I’ve been in foster for three whole months now. THREE.  And guess what? Nobody has chosen me yet. I don’t quite understand it. My sister Nelly is already living her best life in Cornwall, and my foster sister Rosie is also off enjoying the good life in her new home… but me? Still waiting… Which is confusing, because I’m actually a pretty great dog. I’m super friendly with people and dogs, I love cats (yes, really!) and I’m bursting with youthful energy and enthusiasm for life.

Rescue Story

Paws2Freedom - Meet Nora, a young, small, female dog looking for a loving forever home in Devon or Cornwall.

Nora and her sister Nelly were found as tiny puppies, alone, freezing cold and starving. Their mum never came back and they were very weak when help finally arrived. They were taken to safety and given warmth, food and care to help them survive. They had been cold, hungry and scared — but they made it.

With Paws2Freedom, and the dedicated help of Bojan, the shelter owner who drove a very long way to a safe place, the girls were moved to a calm boarding home where they could recover from everything they had been through.

Nora is now at home with her foster parents in the UK. Safe, loved and learning how to be a confident young dog. She even enjoys a relaxing evening at a local pub quiz!  She just needs the chance to continue her journey in a forever home.

Part Segugio Italiano, mixed with a variety of other breeds.

🐾 Hi, I’m Nora🐾

I’m a mixed breed, and definitely a hound mix! If my sister’s DNA test is anything to go by, I’m part Segugio Italiano mixed with lots of other exciting things… herding breeds, Middle Eastern breeds and a splash of terrier. Basically… I am very interesting, very fun and very clever.

A proper designer dog… just without the price tag!

Ideal Home

Cornwall/Devon only, please.

Nora would thrive in an active home that enjoys outdoor activities and can provide both mental and physical stimulation.

She would ideally live with another playful and confident dog who enjoys interaction, although she could also live as an only dog in the right home provided she receives plenty of attention, exercise and enrichment.

A home with direct access to a secure garden would be ideal so that she has space to run and play between walks. This is something she currently enjoys in her foster home.

Nora is affectionate and people-focused, so she would suit a household where she can be involved in daily family life.

Nora is a friendly, affectionate and lively young dog with a curious and adventurous nature. She enjoys being around people and thrives on interaction and activity.

She has settled well in foster and is learning many aspects of home life. She now sleeps in a crate overnight and settles well. She has also been left alone for a short period and handled it very sensibly, happily chewing a special treat while her foster parents were away. However, given the choice, Nora would love to be around her people day and night.

Nora enjoys travelling and happily jumps into her crate in her foster parents’ camper van, knowing that it usually means an adventure is about to begin.

She can be slightly timid in unfamiliar situations but she tries hard to be brave and adapt. She has already experienced several new adventures, including visits to the river where she encountered some rather vocal geese, as well as her very first trip to the beach where she confidently splashed through the water.

One of Nora’s favourite places is the woods where she enjoys exploring scents and keeping a watchful eye out for squirrels. As she is still young and enthusiastic, she will need continued training so that her recall becomes more reliable before she can safely be off lead everywhere.

Nora also enjoys joining her foster parents on visits to the local dog-friendly pub where she happily meets dogs and people of all ages and enjoys the attention.

She loves being part of family life and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time.

Children aged 6+ who are kind, gentle and respectful.

Yes. Nora loves other dogs and enjoys playtime very much. She can be quite enthusiastic when she wants to play, so a dog companion who enjoys interaction and energetic games would be ideal. She responds well when other dogs set boundaries and is learning good dog manners.

Yes. Nora showed no issues with cats in Bosnia and when she met a cat in a UK home she simply wagged her tail politely at the elegant feline.

Not tested.

Nora is healthy and fully vet checked. She is vaccinated, neutered and ready for adoption.

Nora is doing very well in foster and is now clean in the house.
